Ministry Opportunities

In-Touch

The In-Touch Ministry exists to share the love of Jesus Christ with those who reside in retirement communities, rehab/care facilities, or those who are homebound. Areas of service include:

• Visiting with residents

• Leading Bible studies

• Leading a worship service

• Participating in a worship service through singing or playing an instrument

• Visiting those who are homebound, including providing respite for in-home caregivers

• Holding prayer times

• Holding a reception or craft activity with residents as a LifeGroup outreach activity

By bringing a personal touch to these individuals, we bring glory to God and fulfill the biblical mandates to “honor your father and mother” (Exodus 20:12) and “visit orphans and widows in their need” (James 1:27). We believe it is God’s desire that His servants finish well and want to be a part of that.

Platinum Singers

Platinum Singers is the senior adult choral program at Prestonwood. Singing opportunities include ministering at senior adult communities and participating in senior adult choir festivals and other special events. The choir is directed by Dr. Rix Tillman, a retired pastor with an extensive musical background.

The Platinum Singers rehearse on Mondays, February–May and August–Dec, from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. in Room W207.

Scoops and Scripture

The Scoops and Scripture Ministry mobilizes believers to engage people with the Gospel in senior residential facilities. Scoops volunteer teams visit assigned residential facility monthly. Scoops gatherings include a time of singing, a Gospel devotional, door prizes, photos, fellowship and an ice cream party (with a scoop!). Residents receive a photo album, and every month they receive a new Bible verse card to decorate and a photograph with their Scoops team to place in the album.

Knit Wits

The Knit Wits knitting and crochet group meets at 9:00 a.m. every Tuesday in the Commons. If you don’t know how to knit or crochet, we’ll help you learn! Feel free to come and join us for a time of fellowship. All ages are welcome! For more information, contact womensministry@prestonwood.org.
